Delicious Knafeh with European organic honey

  • Ingredients:
    • 1 pound kataifi dough (shredded phyllo dough)
    • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
    • 2 cups ricotta or akkawi cheese
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 1 cup water
    • 1 tablespoon orange blossom water
    • 1 cup chopped pistachios for garnish
    • European organic Honey for drizzling

 

  • Instructions:
    1. Preheat the oven to the temperature recommended on the kataifi dough package.
    2. Untangle the kataifi dough in a large bowl and drizzle melted butter over it.
    3. Press half of the buttered dough into the bottom of a baking dish to form a crust.
    4. Mix the cheese and sugar and spread it over the crust.
    5. Cover the cheese layer with the remaining kataifi dough, pressing it down.
    6. Bake until golden brown and crispy.
    7. In a saucepan, combine water, sugar, and orange blossom water to make a simple syrup.
    8. Pour the syrup over the hot knafeh.
    9. Garnish with chopped pistachios and drizzle with European organic honey.
